Coles: Tailored music using Streamit’s solution down-under
Coles is Australia’s leading supermarket chain which is in business for over a century.
With over 760 stores in Australia and serving more than 15 million customers every week. Coles wanted to reach out to their customers enhancing the in-store experience with music that fits the time of day.
In order to realize their wish, Coles signed a partnership with NOVA Entertainment to develop ‘Coles radio’ This consists of various streams that are digitally streamed all Coles stores in the different states of Australia. Coles decided to work with Streamit and use their Lisa LCD – Ultimate audio players to stream Coles Radio nationwide.
Coles also uses Streamit’s Device portal for the configuration and monitoring of the Lisa devices. This enables Coles to direct the various live radio streams to the players throughout the country. In the event that it is not possible to receive the live stream, they use Fallback to card. This means, that when no live stream is being received, the Lisa LCD – Ultimate plays the audio stored on its SD card.
