At Streamit, we solve complex wireless audio challenges in environments where traditional cabling is restricted or impossible. One recent example is the “Vario” Project, engineered by our Swiss partner architektur elektronik GmbH.

In this installation, the team integrated Streamit’s Iris wireless audio solutions to carry audio from the onboard TV system to the vehicle’s car audio system — a real-world demonstration of how our DECT-based wireless audio broadcast technology performs under demanding, space-constrained conditions.

The challenge

When designing the custom infotainment system for the Vario mobile vehicle, the engineering team at architektur elektronik faced a clear structural limit: complex audio cabling between the onboard TV and the main car audio system simply wasn’t possible. Mobile environments compound the problem:

  • Crowded cellular signals, Wi-Fi networks, and Bluetooth devices that disrupt audio links
  • Strict physical space constraints preventing clean wire routing
  • Potential ground loop noise and electrical hums from onboard power networks
  • Strict requirement for perfect lip-sync between TV video and vehicle speakers

Previous wireless approaches struggled to provide the stability, sound quality, and lip-sync precision required for a luxury motorhome setup.

The solution

To bridge this gap, architektur elektronik chose Streamit Iris wireless audio solutions.

By running on the dedicated 1.9 GHz DECT band as its core transport technology, Iris bypasses the crowded 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz spectrum entirely — delivering a link that stays clean regardless of how many phones, routers, or Bluetooth devices surround it.

Furthermore, Streamit’s tailored engineering provided full galvanic isolation for the sound system, preventing electrical ground loops and eliminating unwanted hums in mobile power environments.

The result

„Wir haben uns für Streamit entschieden, weil das System eine sehr geringe Latenz bietet und dadurch eine einwandfreie Lip-Synchronisation bei der Übertragung gewährleistet ist. Zudem überzeugt es durch seine hohe Stabilität, die geringe Störanfälligkeit und die sehr gute Klangqualität. Ein weiterer Vorteil war, dass wir mit diesem System eine galvanische Trennung für das Soundsystem realisieren konnten.“
