Convenience store distributor Lekkerland moved to a new way of attracting customers into their ltalian convenience stores. The window front of each store is outfitted by a so-called Whispering Windows.
These windows can detect an approaching customer and offer the right product for them. Behind this technology is an audio distribution system with the SIR120 internet radio from Streamit as play-out device. The whispering window acts as a speaker to the SIR120.
The window into a speaker
Lekkerland is a European full-service partner for all sales channels in the convenience sector. In nine countries in Europe the wholesale company supplies about 125,000 convenience stores. SDC Lekkerland is the ltalian distributor of the Lekkerland brand and caters to a chain of 11 stores in ltaly.
These stores are all outfitted with a Whispering Window, a technique to turn a window store front into a speaker. The Whispering Window is able to detect an approaching potential customer, identify them and offer the most attractive offer for them to carne into action. Whispering Windows are developed by FeONIC technology and are used worldwide by leading brands such as Calvin Klein and Hugo Boss.
The whole system is backed up by an in-store audio solution provided by Streamit. The Whispering Windows are hooked up to the Streamit SIR120 internet radio. Music and commercials are directly streamed to the SIR120 enabling the Whispering Windows to match the music and commercials with the needs of the approaching customer and enticing them to enter the store.
