Major software update for in-store audio devices

Streamit will soon release a major software update for in-store audio devices. The software update is for SIR100/SIR120(PRO)/SIR150 devices. This released will add some new highly desired functionality:

• Device configuration from SD card: For mass configuration of devices the SD card in the device can now also be used. All it takes is to put the initial or final configuration on the card. Until now, the SIR would always get its configurations from a configuration platform. This would require an internet connection and the device being registered at the Streamit Device portal. For the configuration of a large number of devices a more practical method is now available

• Schedule update from SD card: it is now possible to have the SIR device update its schedule from the SD card instead of the internet. The job scheduler in the SIR devices allows the user to schedule a number of tasks for the device to carry out at a specific moment in time. Until now, the SIR would always get its scheduler task list via the internet. This requires an internet connection and the device being registered. In the cases that there is no internet connection for the SIR available, the job scheduler can now be run from the SD card

• Cleanup-card will not delete files you want to keep: From now on it is possible to have the cleanup-card not delete a set of files no matter whether they are used by any playlists or not. Before, when the cleanup-card task is executed all of the music tracks which are not used by any playlists are deleted. Sometimes this would mean a file is deleted, which would need to be downloaded again the next day. You can now avoid this issue

• Check if the internet connections work on the SIR itself: It has been made easy to quickly check if the SIR has all the internet connections it needs. A single option in the service menu on the SIR shows you if all the connections required to work, are available

• Improved and fixed several minor issues
