Streamit updated its SAS250 and SAS200

Eindhoven, January 2011

Streamit’s Studio Transmitter Link (STL) solution is in use around the globe by small and large radio stations and by cable/fiber and satellite network operators like Ziggo, UPC and Radio Minerva. Streamit’s STL solution makes it a lot easier and more cost-effective to transmit radio programs to FM-transmitters and cable head-ends. This clearly benefits radio stations and network operators. For some of our customers, Streamit’s STL solution replaces their satellite connection. Streamit updated its SAS250 and SAS200 encoders by introducing several important new features and replacing the SAS200 with the SAS220, making the STL solution even more attractive.

The STL solution, built on standard internet technology, consists of a transmitter (SAS250 or SAS220) and a receiver (SIR150 or SIR120PRO). These transmitters and receivers can also be used independently. The main features of the STL solution are:

• Point-to-point streaming: A stream is sent from one transmitter to one receiver
• Point-to-multi-point streaming: A stream is sent from one transmitter to several receivers
• Streaming to Icecast: The transmitter streams to an Icecast server and this Icecast server distributes the stream to receivers
• Local recording: The transmitter records the live audio stream directly on an SD/SDHC memory card
• Multiple presets: Encoder device can save multiple stream profile presets
• RDS data transmission: The transmitter sends RDS data to the receivers in addition to the audio stream
