Streamit launches the AVplatform at ISE 2011

Streamit will introduce its new AVplatform at ISE 2011. The Streamit AVplatform offers (live) streaming, distribution, recording and sharing of (HD) video and audio streams. It can be used to broadcast live events such as sporting events, concerts, webcasts, news and educational events. Using internet as the distribution network, Streamit offers a complete solution that is easy, fast to set up and cost-effective.

Streamit is the first company to offer a complete end-to-end solution that integrates (HD) video and audio distribution. The AVplatform is an open platform, so integration with other systems and hardware is easily possible. Streamit manufactures its own hardware that works seamlessly with the AVplatform, including encoders/streamers like the SAS100 (audio) and Maven (video and audio) and also decoders like the David (video/audio) and SIR internet radios (audio).

The Maven or a PC with Adobe Flash Media Encoder streams the video/audio to the Streamit AVplatform over the internet. The video/audio broadcast will be accessible on the AVplatform through the portal at http://av.streamit.eu. On the portal the user-access of a station can be fully controlled. The access (view or listen/download) can be determined per station, individual broadcast or recording.

Decoders like the HD set-top box connect to the AVplatform and show the broadcast on your TV or LCD screen. The David makes the broadcast available on the internal cable networks in care and nursing homes, while the SIR internet radio plays the audio broadcast.

With the Streamit AVplatform you basically get your own video/radio station. This makes it possible for the local government to share their meetings with the citizens online, care and nursing homes can broadcast the Sunday service of the local church on the internal cable network and local broadcasters can save cost by delivering live TV-broadcast using the AVplatform that will also record the broadcast for playback on demand.
