The new Lukas II Internet Radio

Eindhoven, June 12 2008

“Better specifications for the same price”. This is according to Streamit B.V., the Eindhoven-based IP media company, at the introduction of the Lucas II Internet Radio. The Lucas II succeeds the Lucas, more than 10,000 of which are currently in use, primarily in the care sector and by listeners of church radio.

The Lukas II brings all the radio stations on the internet within easy reach of the listener. These radio stations currently number many thousands. The new receiver is suitable for the MP3, WMA, AAC+ and OGG formats. The programming possibilities have also been expanded. The Lukas II can also be programmed remotely via Streamit’s newly developed website http://www.channelservice.fm. Other service providers can be added.

With the Lucas II, Streamit meets the needs of important groups of radio listeners, such as the elderly and the residents of care homes, who are still reliant on the very limited number of stations on offer via the cable or the Ethernet. Listening to church radio also remains an important application. The Lukas is a stand-alone receiver with both a telephone and an Ethernet connection. The device has an in-built loudspeaker, but it can also be connected to a stereo installation. The purchase price is € 199.50, including VAT.
